Dr. Harvey Fred McCrory Endowed Scholarship Fund
In most organizations, there is usually one person who epitomizes that group. For the MVMA, Dr. McCrory was that person. He was the first person we saw at our meetings; he was the person to contact if you had a problem or question regarding veterinary medicine in Mississippi for over 30 years. His duties ranged from a faculty member at MSU, to state veterinarian, to the executive secretary for the MVMA and the Board of Veterinary Medicine, and too many others to list.
His contributions to MSU, the MVMA, and society in general are being honored by the formation of the Dr. Harvey F. McCrory Endowment Fund through the university's development office for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University. The principle of this endowment will never be used. The interest and investment income will be used to fund a scholarship to a senior veterinary student at MSU-CVM. The recipient will be a Mississippi resident who has shown the qualities that Dr. McCrory is known for - leadership, service and high ethical standards.
